Quilt Festival-Fall 2009

>> Friday, October 9, 2009

Howdy! This post is celebrating the online Quilt Festival that Park City Girl is hosting. Go check it out and share your quilt.

Here's my quilt and story...

This is Pinwheel Baby Quilt (tutorial from Moda Bake Shop by Pleasant Home's Jody Nelson)

This was my first prairie point and my first pinwheel quilt. I just loved making it. The points make a wonderful dimensional quilt that babies love to finger. But, I must be honest, I can't bear to give it away! And I'm a grammy! (please don't tell my daughter!) This is my favorite quilt of all time.

So, go take a look at the Moda Bake Shop tutorial and Jody's site.

Have a great day!

This is such a happy quilt- love the prairie points so much!

And thanks for the link to the circle sewing! I always wonder how people come up with techniques like that one!

I love this quilt, especially the prairie points. So did you bring yourself to give it away?

This quilt has been on my to-do list since I first saw it posted on the Moda Bake Shop! You version is just beautiful!!! And I love how it looks kind of scrappy (as opposed to making all the pinwheels matchy, as in the sample). You've got me feeling inspired now! :) Thanks!

This is gorgeous! I don't blame you for hanging on to it. Maybe you can make another for the grandkids...

P.S. I really like your blog design!

Melanie, this is a wonderful quilt! I love the way the colours build a contrast with the white, it is very well balanced and just stunning. Oh, and I particularly like the backing fabric, too!! Wonderful work! No wonder you're not giving it away! ;)
